Thanks to support from Glasgow City Council North West Area and Glasgow's Integrated Grant Fund, work began to create a community garden on the derelict ground behind the Community Centre for Health on Dumbarton Road.
The NHS, who owns the land, gave Partick Housing Association permission to develop the site to benefit local residents, as well as service users and staff of their health facilities.
The first seeds were planted in the spring of 2015 by a team of volunteers made up of local residents and service users of the NHS facility.
Since then apple trees and fruit bushes have been added.
Open days are held annually.
We have developed strong local partnerships with the Sandy Road Nursery School, the RSPB and local businesses.
